About The Position

Regional Advancement Officers at Gannon are key members of the University Advancement team reporting to the Vice President while covering territories and constituent groups associated with one or more campuses. The primary responsibility of this full-time role is to help Gannon meet and exceed fundraising goals through effective identification, qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of donors, and in facilitating planned stewardship activity. Advancement Officers are also reviewed on their ability to work effectively with members of a team and with colleagues and volunteers who support Advancement work. This Regional Advancement Officer will be based at our Ruskin, FL campus and will report to the Vice President in Erie, PA while maintaining a hybrid schedule.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Experience in or familiarity with higher education is required.
  • Interpersonal, organizational, technological, and fundraising skills are required.
  • Proficiency with CRM solutions, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and event management and communications software are required.
  • The ability to work effectively and efficiently as a hybrid employee associated with an affiliate campus is essential.
  • Additionally, the ability to partner as an excellent teammate with a sound work ethic and dedication to higher education and Gannon’s Mission is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of experience in fundraising and alumni/donor relations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage a portfolio of philanthropic prospects to secure annual, leadership, major, and deferred gifts in support of attainable yet challenging fundraising and engagement goals.
  • Build and effectively maintain plans related to travel, face-to-face meetings, and event facilitation, working closely with colleagues and volunteers when appropriate.
  • Create written proposals, cases for support, gift agreements, and other materials to engage individuals, foundations, and corporations in support of university priorities.
  • Leverage performance metrics guided by annual and strategic goals and build momentum around regular activity and achievements.
  • Cultivate and steward donor relationships in a way that requires the highest standards of professional conduct and respect to ensure increased philanthropic support and engagement.
  • Support the President’s Office and the President’s Leadership Team by arranging and facilitating constituent meetings and events as needs arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope, responsibility and requirements of the position and informed by Gannon’s Mission and shared values.
