About The Position

Young Life is seeking a Regional Administrator to support the Young Life mission in Los Angeles. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and spiritual health of the region. The administrator will work closely with the Senior/Regional Director and area staff, providing support in spiritual development, leadership development, resource development, direct ministry, and administrative tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of Young Life's culture and operations, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The role also involves financial oversight, donor relations, and ensuring compliance with Young Life policies and procedures. A commitment to Young Life's Statement of Faith and Christian mission is essential.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience as an administrator or equivalent required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability and experience in working with executive leadership.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, devise logical and creative solutions, and empower people to implement them.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in online computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Essential accounting and spreadsheet skills.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and proactive to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain healthy, effective working relationships with other Young Life field staff and offer excellence in support to staff and the public.
  • Must represent Young Life in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to manage and lead others from a distance.
  • Must sign a Statement of Faith and subscribe to Young Life's beliefs and policies.
  • Must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.
  • Must be ready, willing, and able to fulfill ministry functions.
  • Must refrain from conduct and statements that detract from biblical standards.
  • Must abide by all policies and practices of Young Life.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a personal spiritual growth plan, including prayer, study, and church involvement.
  • Assist the Senior/Regional Director in ensuring the region's ministry is prayer-dependent and rooted in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Support the Regional Director in casting vision and maintaining oversight for reaching youth in the region.
  • Facilitate the staff evaluation process and assist with personnel processes such as interviewing, hiring, and transfers.
  • Oversee the financial health of the region, including managing accounts, reviewing reports, and building financial presentations for donors.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining the region's fundraising strategy and donor communication.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of plans for the health and encouragement of staff, leaders, and committee members.
  • Coordinate logistics, schedules, and travel arrangements for regional and YL meetings.
  • Manage regional camp requests, work crew assignments, and camp assignment placements.
  • Review Adult Guest Hosts applications for camping.
  • Attend national regional administrator training and other professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain healthy working relationships with area administrators, providing support and encouragement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of processes and provide support for staff in areas like Concur, compensation, and CMI.
  • Provide in-person and virtual training on mission policies and procedures.
  • Manage processes for the creation of new areas.
  • Organize and facilitate staff care projects throughout the year.
  • Meet regularly with the regional leadership team.
  • Respond promptly to staff questions and provide support and direction.
  • Resolve problems and questions in the absence of the Senior/Regional Director.
  • Liaise with Mission Services staff during emergencies and between camps and staff for camping events.
  • Provide guidance on Young Life policies and procedures.
  • Verify and oversee regional ministry statistics.
  • Coordinate the Senior/Regional Director's schedule and travel arrangements.
  • Engage in strategic planning in partnership with the Senior/Regional Director.
  • Prepare and review monthly expense reports and check requests.
  • Process and pay all monthly expenses/bills accurately.
  • Analyze and maintain regional cash flow and yearly budget planning.
  • Review regional and area cash flows monthly, managing transfers and deficit reports.
  • Manage budget and compensation timelines and regional approval of budgets.
  • Compile and review compensation information for Senior/Regional Director approval.
  • Manage and distribute various regional funds with approval.
  • Manage PCard access for staff in the region.
  • Coordinate and execute regional communication, including newsletters and reminders.
  • Provide support to volunteer-led areas.
  • Manage Commissioning application approval for area staff.

Benefits

  • Salary range: $37,000 to $44,000 (based on 28 hours/week)
