About The Position

The main purpose of this position is to secure profitable business opportunities across the various service offerings for Werner Enterprises, specifically related to One Way, Dedicated, Logistics, Intermodal, and Final Mile.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing, Management, or Transportation/Logistics, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Four to five years sales experience preferred.
  • Three to four years transportation experience required.
  • Skill in operating a computer and the software required for analysis, presentations, and operations, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office Products.
  • Excellent negotiating and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis.
  • Knowledge of North American geography and specific market knowledge of assigned territory.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proven sales ability.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the bid process from identifying the opportunity, working with product specialist & business owners in designing a strategy, pricing, proposal creation, presentation and award.
  • Facilitate effective communication with customers for project development, follow-up meetings on presentations and proposals given, quarterly reviews, expanded development and additional opportunities.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans and programs that achieve network balance within responsible territory/region.
  • Facilitate Operational on-boarding of new business to ensure complete understanding of expectations within varying business units and making sure these are being met.
  • Prospecting potential customers and developing qualified solutions.
  • Completing all aspects of the customer interface including coordinating the negotiation of the transportation agreements, rate and accessorial publication, any other relevant documents and collections.
  • Keeping up to date with skills and knowledge of the various product offerings, internal systems and processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
