About The Position

The Region Director is responsible for the overall performance, growth, and operational execution of a multi-district retail region. This leader provides strategic direction and leadership to a team of District Managers, ensuring alignment with Rural King's Mission, Vision, Values, and business objectives. The Region Director drives sales growth, operational excellence, talent development, and financial performance while fostering a people-first culture that supports associate engagement and delivers exceptional customer experience. This role serves as a key partner to senior leadership, translating company strategy into execution across the region.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive retail leadership experience, including multi-unit management responsibility.
  • Minimum of 5 years leading District Managers, Regional Managers, or equivalent multi-unit leadership teams.
  • Proven ability to drive sales growth, operational excellence, talent development, and financial performance across multiple locations.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing sales, labor, shrink, inventory, and operating expense performance.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented retail environment.
  • Must reside within the assigned region/trade area and maintain the ability to travel extensively throughout the region. (store to store on a daily basis with overnight stays as needed)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of District Managers to achieve regional sales, profitability, operational, and customer experience objectives.
  • Drive execution of company strategies, operational standards, merchandising initiatives, and key business priorities across all stores within the region.
  • Analyze regional performance metrics, including sales, labor, shrink, inventory, and operating expenses, and implement action plans to improve results.
  • Build, develop, and lead high-performing District Managers and store leadership teams.
  • Champion succession planning, leadership development, and internal talent growth to strengthen organizational capability and bench strength.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, coaching, recognition, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Human Resources to support workforce planning, talent acquisition, associate relations, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Promote a people-first culture that reflects Rural King's values and commitment to serving customers and associates.
  • Ensure stores deliver consistent, high-quality customer experience through strong leadership, execution, and operational discipline.
  • Create an environment where associates are engaged, empowered, and aligned with company goals.
  • Build strong partnerships across Store Operations, Merchandining, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Loss Prevention, and other business functions.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives and support the successful implementation of company strategies and priorities.
  • Provide insights, recommendations, and feedback to senior leadership regarding opportunities, challenges, and emerging business trends.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements across the region.
  • Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism while handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Travel extensively throughout the assigned region and as business needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
