About The Position

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking a Region 4 Manager to join their leadership team. This role involves overall authority for the planning, project selection and delivery, maintenance, and operation of state transportation facilities and buildings within Central Oregon. Region 4 comprises over 350 employees, with headquarters and a Technical Resource Center in Bend, district maintenance and project offices in Bend, The Dalles, and Klamath Falls, and numerous maintenance stations. As a key leader in the Delivery & Operations Division, the manager will influence the strategic direction of the division and contribute to the development of over 2,300 employees. The position requires collaboration with various branches and other regions to maintain, operate, and improve Oregon’s multimodal transportation system. Requirements

Seven years of management experience in transportation infrastructure development and project delivery.
OR Four years of management experience in transportation infrastructure development and project delivery and a bachelor's degree in a related field.
Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid U.S. driver license and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction for statewide programs and all region employees.
Work with internal and external partners to develop and implement short and long term transportation plans and plans for emergency events.
Direct plan development, program development, program management, project design, construction contracts, maintenance and operations.
Oversee personal services, projects, budgets and spending.
Monitor maintenance and operations conditions, ongoing construction projects and connect with crews through routine tours.
Manage project delivery for capital improvement and other projects.
Coordinate with local governments, the public, state representatives and the media to gather information and set priorities.
Guide the region’s management team and oversee personnel actions, performance management and budget administration.
Represent the region at meetings, respond to questions or concerns, and communicate with internal and external partners.
This position is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week including holidays.
Considerable travel is required within the region and statewide in all types of weather.
