About The Position

The City of Roseville is hiring Refuse Truck Drivers to support its solid waste team and provide essential community services. The role involves driving a refuse truck, running collection routes, and ensuring trash and recycling are picked up safely and on time. It is an outdoor, active, hands-on position that involves working as part of a team. The current vacancy is a regular, benefitted, full-time position. The employment list created through this recruitment may also be used to fill future regular, limited-term, and temporary vacancies. The position has two levels. Refuse Truck Driver I requires no prior experience, though general maintenance and/or construction experience is preferred. Refuse Truck Driver II requires two years of increasingly responsible refuse collection or disposal work similar to that of a City of Roseville Refuse Truck Driver I. Both levels require education equivalent to completing twelfth grade or a GED, and a valid California Class B driver’s license with air brakes by the date of application.

Requirements

For Refuse Truck Driver I: no experience is required.
For Refuse Truck Driver II: two years of increasingly responsible refuse collection/disposal experience similar to that of a City of Roseville Refuse Truck Driver I.
Education equivalent to completion of twelfth grade, a GED, or a higher-level degree.
Possess a valid California Class B driver’s license with air brakes by the date of application.
