Refurbishment Technician
About The Position
The Refurbishment Technician is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the physical plant. Conducting under supervisor direction, preventive maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs and changes, building equipment and plumbing repairs. This position reports to the Project Coordinator. Performs general maintenance duties, such as: fixing wall covers, floor covers and some furniture and fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repair and appliance repairs. Performs painting and refurbishing projects, as directed by supervisor. Performs routine preventive maintenance, as directed by supervisor. Performs minor building and equipment repairs. Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor. Assists with snow removal efforts during winter season, as necessary. Does routine maintenance on all vehicles when assigned. Maintains work areas and equipment/tools in a neat and clean manner that meets safety standards. When QUALIFIED, assists the Director of Plant Services and/or performs work on the heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, refrigeration systems, pumps, motors, fans, electrical systems and emergency generators.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent in training, education and experience.
- Minimum one year experience in building maintenance.
- One year or more experience in apartment and/or healthcare community maintenance.
- Renovation experience including: Painting: Trim, walls, decks; Carpentry: Install/remove cabinetry, doors, walls, trim work; Drywall: Repairs and new install; Electrical: Replacing switches/outlets, installing new light fixtures; Plumbing: Hooking up residential faucets, toilets, drains; Flooring: Carpet, tile, LVP.
- Must have thorough understanding of all building systems and their interdependence.
- Must possess current and valid driver’s license consistent with the requirements determined by size of vehicle and laws of the state in which the driver is licensed.

Responsibilities

- Performs routine maintenance on all assigned vehicles.
- Maintains work areas and equipment/tools in a neat and clean manner that meets safety standards.
- When QUALIFIED, assists the Director of Plant Services and/or performs work on heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, refrigeration systems, pumps, motors, fans, electrical systems, and emergency generators.
