Refrigeration Trailer Technician
About The Position
Amerit Fleet Solutions is seeking a Refrigeration Trailer Technician/Mechanic in Cedar Falls, IA. This role is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of Reefer Units on trailers to ensure safe and efficient operation. The technician will need a high level of proficiency and working knowledge of Reefer units, PMs, and A/C. A 608 & 609 certification is required, along with experience repairing the Refrigeration unit (Diesel Engine) on a trailer (Heavy-Duty Trailer Repair). The role may also involve repairing some Trailers (DOT Inspections and Repairs) if Reefer Units are operational. The position offers competitive hourly pay, paid weekly, with potential for a sign-on bonus up to $5,000. The shift is Monday - Friday, 2:30pm-10:30pm.
Requirements
- Experience with Reefer units (Thermo King and/or Carrier)
- 608 Certification a MUST
- Experience with PMs and A/C
- Must have valid Drivers License- Class C
- Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
- Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
- Required Reefer experience repairing the Refrigeration unit (Diesel Engine) on a Trailer. (Heavy-Duty Trailer Repair)
- Must have your 608 & 609.
Nice To Haves
- Repair some Trailers (DOT Inspections and Repairs) if Reefer Units are in working condition.
Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to Reefer vehicles
- Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
- Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
- Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
- Remove or install various parts on vehicles
- Interact with clients through both email or phone as necessary
- Perform other duties as required
