Requirements

  • 3(+) years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience or equivalent experience required.
  • Basic computer skills necessary to log information, process daily work orders, and complete required documentation.
  • Ability to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Basic math skills are necessary to perform this job at a satisfactorily level.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend and stoop.
  • Repetitive gripping, pushing and pulling.
  • Frequent overhead work.
  • Ability to work in temperatures ranging from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees.
  • Basic math skills; percentages, fractions and measurements.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of industrial maintenance experience education preferred (I.E. possess industrial maintenance diploma or currently enrolled in technical school) in lieu of experience.
  • Certification and experience as RETA Operator 1 preferred.
  • Certification as RETA Operator 2 and 3 preferred.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance including Pneumatics, PLC’s, Motor controls, and shop equipment operation desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of ammonia refrigeration systems, HCFC systems, hot water, compressed air, and steam systems with minor supervision.
  • Apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment.
  • Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals.
  • Perform robust preventative maintenance and refrigeration repairs.
  • Perform emergency mechanical or electrical repairs.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, pump, pressure, and hydraulic plant equipment.
  • Understand boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics.
  • Pass a HAZ-Mat physical and complete training to be certified as an Emergency Responder Technician Level.
  • Participate on the Emergency Response Team.
  • Minimize downtime due to equipment and system failure.
