About The Position

This role provides maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of ammonia refrigeration systems, HCFC systems, hot water, compressed air, and steam systems. The technician will apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment and interact effectively with plant personnel to achieve plant and individual goals. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, refrigeration repairs, emergency mechanical or electrical repairs, and troubleshooting various plant equipment including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, pump, pressure, and hydraulic systems. Understanding boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics is required. The position also requires passing a HAZ-Mat physical, obtaining certification as an Emergency Responder Technician Level, and participating on the Emergency Response Team. Minimizing downtime due to equipment and system failure is a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • 3(+) years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience or equivalent experience required.
  • Basic computer skills necessary to log information, process daily work orders, and complete required documentation.
  • Ability to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Basic math skills are necessary.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend and stoop.
  • Ability to perform repetitive gripping, pushing and pulling.
  • Ability to perform frequent overhead work.
  • Ability to work in temperatures ranging from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees.
  • Ability to perform outside work.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance including Pneumatics, PLC’s, Motor controls, and shop equipment operation desired.
  • Must not have 4 or more attendance points for locations on an 8 point policy (on application date).
  • No written warning in the past six (6) months.
  • No suspension on record for the last 12 months.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of industrial maintenance experience education preferred (I.E. possess industrial maintenance diploma or currently enrolled in technical school) in lieu of experience.
  • Certification and experience as RETA Operator 1 preferred.
  • Certification as RETA Operator 2 and 3 preferred.
  • Fractions and measurements knowledge.
