About The Position

The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for operating the entire refrigeration system to maintain plant operating temperatures in accordance with Haccp and USDA compliance. This role involves completing daily computer tasks for PM and work orders, ensuring accuracy and clarity of documentation. The technician will perform preventive maintenance on various equipment including engines, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical control systems, conveyor systems, and production machines. Punctuality and adherence to all safety, general manufacturing, and food safety policies are required. The position also demands motivation to increase knowledge and gain experience in all aspects of the Maintenance field, along with performing other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Two or more years’ experience working in ammonia refrigeration, and/or minimum of four years of industrial HVAC/R experience.
  • Universal EPA certification OR ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and pass a fit test.

Nice To Haves

  • RETA 1 & 2 certification
  • Attended HVAC tech school
  • Experience with anhydrous ammonia refrigeration

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical control systems, conveyor systems, and production machines.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, general manufacturing policies, and food safety guidelines.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a safe and timely fashion.
  • Increase knowledge and gain experience in all aspects of the Maintenance field.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
