About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing plant refrigeration systems and responsible areas while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Must be able to pass and maintain a PFT (pulmonary function test).
Must be a member of the HAZMAT team.
Must be able to use and train in a SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus).
Must remain clean shaven at all times.
6 months of industrial maintenance experience.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, turn, climb, push, pull, carry 50+ pounds as needed.

Nice To Haves

Industrial refrigeration experience a plus.
Minor welding and fabrication ability a plus.
Understanding of basic shop math.
Understanding of different types of pumps and application.
Understanding of basic A/C and D/C electrical theory and system wiring principles and installation methods.
Understanding of compressed air systems.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, maintain and repair plant refrigeration systems.
Perform mechanical, refrigeration, and electrical duties, and make adjustments and repairs.
Work safely to ensure proper usage of Ammonia and other equipment.
Understand industrial ammonia refrigeration operation and functions of control valves.
Work with devices that are fragile and require precise attention.
Use precision measuring devices.
Read and understand blueprints.
Use basic hand and power tools.
Troubleshoot and rebuild different types of pumps and their applications.
Understand basic A/C and D/C electrical theory and system wiring principles and installation methods.
Perform minor welding and fabrication.
Troubleshoot compressed air systems and apply maintenance techniques.
Tolerate extreme cold, hot, dry, and wet environments.
Work holidays and weekends, stay late, be called in early, or cover other shifts.
Communicate with others in a professional manner.
