About The Position

This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters. The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, upgrade, and appearance of all Ammonia and Freon Refrigeration and environmental equipment in the facility. This role requires working in a cold environment and using hand tools to perform maintenance on machinery. Ensuring food safety and quality, cleanliness, and housekeeping are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Must have at least 6 months of maintenance experience
• Must have 1 year industrial maintenance experience or a minimum 7-month technical training

• Previous HVAC experience
• RETA CARO certification

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the maintenance, repair, upgrade, and appearance of all Ammonia and Freon Refrigeration and environmental equipment in the facility
• Using hand tools to perform maintenance on machinery
• Ability to work in a cold environment
• Willingness to complete Hazmat training
• Ensuring food safety and quality
• Cleanliness and housekeeping
• Maintenance of electrical and control circuits associated with refrigeration equipment
• Coil and equipment cleaning
• Maintenance of Evaporative Condenser Units
• Repair and maintenance of Freon condenser and evaporator coils
• Repair/Replace fan motors and fan blades
• Install and repair various valves and other components in ammonia systems
• Use math to document changes in the system levels, pressures, etc.
• Use computer to complete data entry
• Maintaining a safe working environment
