About The Position

This role involves monitoring building equipment for safety and performing necessary repairs. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical problems, documenting solutions, and making recommendations for further action. The position requires maintaining various building systems, performing preventative maintenance, and managing communications for service calls.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years recent experience performing refrigeration service or maintenance work in building-related trades.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform duties with a high degree of accuracy and care to avoid mechanical breakdowns.
  • Ability to respond to direct and radio requests as soon as possible.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess an EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
  • Ability to read and comprehend manuals, prints, and work orders.
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment maintenance.
  • General record keeping skills.
  • Customer service orientation and sensitivity to diverse needs of coworkers, employees, and other persons contacted in the daily course of work.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Make daily mechanical checks on equipment in the Mechanical Room, Roof, HVAC, EMS systems, refrigerated cases, and walk-ins.
  • Maintain and repair all refrigeration, HVAC, EMS systems, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, leak checks, inspections, and record required information.
  • Maintain jurisdictionally applicable records, EPA forms, and required documentation in both paper and electronic formats (Corrigo and Trakref).
  • Monitor preventive maintenance work done by outside contractors and notify the Area Refrigeration Manager of any issues.
  • Troubleshoot refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical problems, perform repairs, document solutions, and recommend further action.
  • Maintain a high technical level in troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Manage communications for service calls in a timely manner.
  • Maintain current license, inspection, permit, and certificate requirements to meet all state and local codes.
  • Operate EMS building controls and automation systems, fine-tune operating parameters, adjust set points and schedules, and understand/modify building control sequences.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as ordering material, writing purchase orders, and data entry for work reports and refrigerant leak reports via company-supplied electronics.
  • Perform all duties in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and safe work area in the mechanical room, roof, and service vehicle.
