Refrigeration Specialist 2nd Shift- SHERMAN, TX
About The Position
This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration system, HCFC systems, hot water, air compressors, and waste treatment operations, ensuring their safe and efficient functioning. The role requires understanding and adherence to OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) rules and standards. The specialist will work within a team environment, interacting effectively with team members, management, operations personnel, and contractors. A foundational knowledge in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and other systems within the assigned responsibilities is necessary. The position also involves participating in training and skill development and requires self-motivation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of electrical testing equipment
- Working knowledge of basic hand and power tools
- Ability to read and understand Equipment and System P&IDs
- Ability to pass a HAZ-Mat physical and training to be certified as an Emergency Responder Technician Level
- Working knowledge of Windows based software such as Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to learn and apply Tyson SAP-PM Plant Maintenance system
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization
- Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
Nice To Haves
- Formal training from an Air-conditioning Refrigeration Technical School
- RETA and IIAR Ammonia Refrigeration training
- 3 plus years Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration and equipment room experience in a food plant
- Experience in the Air Conditioning Refrigeration industry
- Industrial maintenance experience
- Extensive knowledge of Industrial Safety procedures
- RETA I Certification
- Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification
- Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance including hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, Motor Controls, and shop equipment operation
- Experience with Air Conditioning Refrigeration systems operation and maintenance
