About The Position

Neelands is seeking a 313A Refrigeration Service Apprentice (Term 2) to join their team servicing the GTA/Hamilton area. This is a unionized, regular, full-time position. The Service Technician will report to the Senior Manager, Service and will collaborate with the team on the repair, installation, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of refrigeration systems. The role requires availability during weekdays from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, with on-call duties and after-hours service calls based on dispatch or scheduled assignments.

Requirements

313A Apprentice (Term 2)
Ozone Depletion Prevention certificate
Valid G license with a clean driver abstract
English language proficiency (read/write/speak)

Responsibilities

Response to service calls and scheduled maintenance and repairs for refrigeration and mechanical equipment
Perform diagnostics to detect malfunctions and defects in equipment such as CO2 racks, Condensers, Evaporator fans, Glycol Racks, Expansion Tanks
Troubleshoot to ensure the system is functioning properly following repairs
Perform schedule and unscheduled repair and maintenance on refrigeration, and mechanical equipment
Effectively communicate and update all information regarding assignments to the team
Provide recommendations and assist estimator with information on quote
Build and maintain positive relationship with customers or clients
Maintain service vehicle inventory and cleanliness
Other duties as required
