About The Position

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position is a starter position in the Refrigeration Department to perform cleaning/washing Ammonia refrigeration air units and HVAC /MAUs units on the roof, change filters, clean roof area, etc. and shadow Refrigeration Techs to be trained in the ammonia refrigeration system and will be considered for any future Refrigeration Tech positions open. The role also involves creating Maintenance Notifications, work orders, and confirming time into the SAP system. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in hot/cold/wet environments
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift over 40 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders above 10 feet
  • Ability to walk and stand approximately 8.5 hours/day on a concrete floor
  • Work schedule is 6 days a week, with days off during the week
  • Ability to work on weekends and holidays as scheduled
  • Willingness to rotate shifts as needed
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Pass a Level 4 pulmonary function test and physical, and be recertified each year
  • Must be clean shaven to get a proper fit while using APR/SCBA equipment
  • Must be a member of the Plant Hazmat Team
  • Ability to complete Refrigeration and General Maintenance computer-based training
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Twelve months of continuous employment with a single employer within the last 36 months of employment or completion and verifiable formal schooling in a specific trade
  • Vocational HVAC school or trade school training in industrial or commercial refrigeration
  • Max of two previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire
  • 180 days (6 months) waiting period
