About The Position

Tyson Foods is seeking Refrigeration Maintenance Technicians for its Albertville, AL facility. Applicants will be considered for any open refrigeration maintenance technician positions. If an applicant meets the minimum requirements, they may be contacted for an interview. This role involves working a 6-day work week, potentially extending to 7 days if production requires Saturday work. The environment can be hot/wet or cold/wet, and the position requires physical exertion including pushing, pulling, or lifting over 40 lbs, and climbing ladders above 10 feet. The job also requires standing for approximately 8.5 hours per day on a concrete floor. Successful candidates must be willing to work overtime and weekends, be a member of the Plant Hazmat Team, and be able to complete computer-based training and enter work into the SAP system. Use of SCBA equipment is required, and candidates must be able to pass a Level 4 pulmonary function test and physical annually. A clean-shaven appearance is necessary for a proper fit with SCBA equipment.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of industrial refrigeration experience or be a recent graduate from an accredited school for industrial refrigeration.
  • Ability to pass a Level 4 pulmonary function test and physical, and be recertified each year.
  • Must be clean shaven to ensure a proper fit with SCBA equipment.
  • Relevant work experience documented in the work history section of the application or uploaded resume.
  • Provide government identification number for verification of previous Tyson employment history.
  • Have not worked for Tyson Foods more than 3 times.
  • Acceptable rehire status (rehires accepted after 180 days, with potential for longer waiting periods or denial based on dismissal reason).
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities
