The Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic will ensure the safe and efficient operation, perform preventative maintenance tasks, conduct inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs of the manufacturing plant's refrigeration system, boiler system, air compressors, and hot water system. In this position, you will assure that all safety precautions and health hazards with ammonia are followed per Tyson requirements and ensure compliance with state, federal, and local agencies, including but not limited to OSHA and the EPA. You will maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair various components of the plant's systems and participate as an Emergency Response Team Member. This role requires the ability to understand and follow instructions, effective communication skills, familiarity with preventative maintenance programs, and experience with Anhydrous Ammonia systems. The successful candidate must be able to obtain SCBA certification, use a fully encapsulated chemical suit in emergencies, travel for training, and pass IIAR Training modules for ammonia refrigeration. PSM experience is also required.
