About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated effectively to the team members and efficiently. Provide maintenance support with moderate supervision to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and team. Applicants will be considered for Refrigeration Maintenance level openings. Leveling is determined during the interview process based on skillset, knowledge, and experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience or refrigeration experience in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.
  • Basic computer skills necessary for logging information, processing daily work orders, and completing required documentation.
  • Ability to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Effective communication and basic math skills required.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally; ability to lift 20 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to stand on a hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend, and stoop.
  • Repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Frequent overhead work.
  • Basic math skills, including percentages, fractions, and measurements.
  • Willing and able to work overtime and weekends.
  • Willing and able to furnish your own tools.

Nice To Haves

  • PSM Experience is preferred.
  • Refrigeration experience is preferred.
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems with an in-depth knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, and controls is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment.
  • Conduct emergency mechanical or electrical repairs as needed.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment.
  • Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals.
  • Minimize downtime due to equipment failure.
  • Read and understand blueprints, manuals and work orders.
