About The Position

You will play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality food and great moments for millions of families. The Master Level Refrigeration Lead will perform all duties as specified at the Master Level classification, including observing and making necessary adjustments and/or repairs to ammonia systems, chilled water, chlorine, air compressors, ice maker and delivery, HVAC, and hot water generation and delivery systems. This role involves monitoring and adjusting product cooler temperatures, assisting with the coordination of preventative maintenance, and completing mechanical duties to ensure the quality of work on equipment. The Lead will also instruct, direct, and assist hourly employees, and support the supervisor in meeting department and company goals for quality, productivity, cost, and safety. Additionally, the position requires setting up/organizing the department, ensuring adequate staffing, and making necessary adjustments. Maintaining safety, housekeeping, sanitation, and food requirements are crucial, as is assisting with and completing required paperwork.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the refrigeration field or the successful completion of a course of instruction in refrigeration combined with three years of experience may be acceptable.
  • Must have successful completion of HAZMAT 40 hour training and certificate.
  • Must complete annual PSM (Process Safety Management) refresher training.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and make on-the-spot corrections in emergency situations.
  • Must have good written and verbal English-communications skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work from a ladder.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, pass a SCBA physical exam.
  • Must be able to weld and perform mechanical and fabrication tasks.
  • Must be certified to work on Freon systems.
  • Must be able to work weekends and rotating shifts.
  • Must be able to submit and pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties as specified at the Master Level classification.

  • Assist supervisor to ensure that department and company goals and standards of quality, productivity, cost and safety are met.
  • Set up/organize and ensure that the department is staffed and make necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain safety, housekeeping, sanitation and food requirements while performing job duties.
  • Assist with and complete paperwork as required and/or requested by supervisor.
