Responsible for all routine inspections, repairs, replacement and adjustments to the refrigeration and air conditioning equipment to assume comport and optimal safety for patients and associates and compliance with the medical center and other related JCAHO standards. Provides training to all refrigeration/air conditioning technicians. Work is both indoor and outdoor. Inclement weather can be a factor. May encounter hazards associated with electrical repairs. Requires using caution while handling refrigerant and other chemicals. Requires flexible work schedule, weekend and on-call work. Must be able to adjust to changing tasks and make accurate, independent decisions on the repair of malfunctioning equipment. Must use good judgment in working with others and planning jobs. Individual will be required to perform other duties as required and given by the supervisor(s). Must keep logs for their own refrigeration Freon usage.
