About The Position

Under general management and supervision, this role involves instructing and performing refrigeration operations, preventative maintenance, and repair throughout the warehouse. The technician will provide maintenance guidance and support to ensure operational objectives are met, and will lead and perform basic troubleshooting and repair of ammonia refrigeration, industrial mechanical, and electrical systems as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, with five years combined Refrigeration and/or Maintenance experience (relevant Technical School certification program and/or Associates Degree program considered as credit in lieu of employment experience).
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, and knowledge of industry product reporting systems.
  • Must have proof of attended and passed Ammonia Operator 1 certification from an accredited/recognized ammonia school such as Garden City Ammonia Program (GCAP) or Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA).
  • Must be willing and capable of attending and passing Ammonia Operator 2 certification from an accredited/recognized ammonia school such as Garden City Ammonia Program (GCAP) or Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA).
  • Must be able to pass a physical and respiratory exam.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, under manager direction, refrigeration and maintenance technicians in the operation(s), repair(s), and adjustment(s) of ammonia refrigeration system.
  • Consistently monitor system performance and determine when system is not operating correctly and take necessary steps and/or corrective actions to bring system back into normal operating limits and status.
  • Leads, instructs, and teaches technicians in the proper performance of routine maintenance on various types of warehouse equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s directions and safety / environmental standards.
  • Leads troubleshooting efforts of equipment and recommends corrective action as necessary.
  • Instructs technicians in proper storage, maintenance, and use of and care of tools and machinery while keeping all in safe operating condition.
  • Supports implementation and sustainment of Colorado Premium Operating System (AOS).
  • Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance using instruments such as multi-meters, gauges and other read out or diagnostic equipment.
  • Conducts tests of safety equipment and documents such to ensure OSHA and operational standards are met and maintained in compliance.
  • Maintains accurate required daily documentation and preventive maintenance records.
  • Follow all SOP’s, GMP’s and safety policies and practices as required.
  • Leads technicians in maintaining accurate preventive maintenance, PSM documentation and any and all necessary documentation and records.
  • Assures all OSHA & EPA regulatory compliance records are kept current in conjunction with department manager.
  • Performs other maintenance related work and job assignments as required while following all specified SOP’s, GMP’s and safety policies and practices.
  • Assures work areas are (clean, organized, etc.), and performs housekeeping duties as required.
