About The Position

Gateway Mechanical is seeking Journeyman & Apprentice Refrigeration Technicians who are skilled, calm under pressure, and enjoy solving challenges. This role offers variety, with a mix of service calls and project installations. The company is the largest HVAC & Refrigeration service provider in Western Canada, established in 1968, handling over 40,000 service calls annually. They emphasize local crews supported by strong technical expertise, ensuring technicians have the necessary support and autonomy.

Requirements

• Journeyman Cert (or indentured Apprentice)
• 2+ years experience
• Ability to handle on-call rotation
• Valid Class 5 license
• Decent driving record

Nice To Haves

• Supermarket experience
• Gas ticket
• Safety certs (First Aid, WHMIS, CSTS, etc.)
• Fall Protection, AWP, H2S

Responsibilities

• Jump between service calls and project installs
• Fix what’s broken
• Build what’s new
• Figure things out when they don’t make sense
• Diagnose issues
• Repair and maintain commercial & industrial HVACR systems
• Install and retrofit equipment
• Read blueprints
• Keep paperwork organized
• Communicate effectively with customers
