About The Position

The Refrigeration Hardware Technician 1 supports retail refrigeration operations by performing refrigeration hardware preventive maintenance and executing daily refrigeration hardware service requests for retail stores. This role is part of the Facilities Refrigeration team at Publix Super Markets, which is described as the largest employee-owned company in the U.S.

Requirements

• High School diploma or its equivalent
• 1 year working in skilled trades service or construction disciplines OR 2 years in Publix Retail or Operations experience
• must be at least 20 years old and have a valid driver license
• ability to lift/lower/climb ladders/walk on roofs
• basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, on call rotations and travel with overnight stays

Nice To Haves

• Some HVAC School/trade school coursework

Responsibilities

• evaluating, maintaining, and cleaning refrigeration hardware components (i.e., doors, hardware, fixtures)
• responding to work requests from retail operations to evaluate and repair refrigeration hardware components (i.e., doors, hardware, fixtures)
• performing housekeeping duties such as maintaining accurate parts inventory
