About The Position

This Facilities Technician 1 role is located at the Knoxville, TN campus and is responsible for maintaining the company's facilities and equipment. This includes general building care, recycling, snow removal, and yard care. The position requires performing lite mechanical duties and demonstrating general electrical knowledge. Key responsibilities involve filter changes, operating and maintaining scissor lifts and floor scrubbers, and assisting with various facility upkeep tasks and event setups. The shift for this role is Monday - Friday, from 1:30pm to 10:00pm, and includes a 10% shift differential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-year facilities, ground crew experience
  • Driver’s license required with clean driving record
  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret instructions and documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, leads, and supervisors across the organization.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to effectively manage time, including competing work demands and multiple projects at the same time.
  • Attention to detail required
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools

Nice To Haves

  • Lite mechanical duties and general electrical knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • General carpentry, painting, sheetrock, staining, adjusting doors, and setup/remodel of work areas.
  • General facility upkeep to standards and assisting with our internal customers for event setup & teardown.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization within the facilities.
  • Wears proper protective equipment during appropriate job functions.
  • Complies with all paperwork that governs job duties, work orders & PM’s.
  • May be assigned to different work areas as needed to support internal & external building facilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor, or appropriate designee.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Travel requirements estimated at 25%, including the need to travel internationally.
  • Company vehicle driving requirements estimated at 10%; must have valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of building and mechanical systems
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work orders.
