As an EMS Technician, you'll be responsible for documenting and installing control system hardware, cabling, and conduit that are necessary to facilitate refrigeration and building energy management conversions and upgrades. Along with performing duties as a technician for the purpose of installation and maintenance of Energy Management Systems in supermarkets, convenience stores, and foodservice establishments. Engage in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of systems that utilize control voltage signals and high-voltage power components. Read and interpret control and ladder logic type diagrams. Must know how to read blueprints and schematic diagrams. Uses standard hand tools, power tools, as well as specific instruments and specialty tools such as: voltmeter, multi-meter, amprobe, manometer, RPM speed indicator. Execute plans of control wiring and other electrical systems Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.) Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks, ensuring compatibility of components Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc. Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged unit Willingness and ability to travel 25% - 75% of the time.
