We are seeking a Refractory Brick Mason for maintenance work in the Pass Christian, MS area. This position is responsible for the removal, surface cleaning, and installation of refractory materials per owner/company requirements. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Foreman or Supervisor. The role supports the development of procedures for performing a variety of duties and performs complex duties within established guidelines. No per diem is available.
Requirements
- One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level).
- Written pre-employment qualification test.
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
- Hazard Communication orientation/test.
- Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place.
Responsibilities
- Removal, surface cleaning, and installation of refractory materials per owner/company requirements.
- Laying bricks, stone, and other masonry units in building industrial infrastructures.
- Reading and interpreting sketches and blueprints.
- Cutting and trimming bricks using hammers, chisels, masonry saws, and other hand and power tools.
- Lining or relining furnaces, boilers, kilns, and similar installations using acid-resistant bricks, concretes, plastics, or other materials.
- Restoring, cleaning, or painting existing brick structures.
