About The Position
The Refinery Production Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing daily operations within a refinery to ensure efficient and safe production processes. This position is responsible for managing production teams, coordinating workflow, and maintaining operational standards to meet production targets and quality specifications. The supervisor will monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize output. Additionally, the role involves enforcing safety protocols and regulatory compliance to protect personnel and the environment. Ultimately, the Refinery Production Supervisor ensures that department operations run smoothly and safely.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment.
- Ability to direct shift operations, conduct crew meetings and training.
- Leadership skills and self motivated.
- Good interpersonal communications skills; written and verbal.
Nice To Haves
- Experience supervising a unionized workforce preferred.
- Experience with metallurgy, material blending, and/or chemistry preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of refinery employees to accomplish the refining, casting, and storage of various lead alloys in a safe, clean, and efficient manner.
- Reviews production schedules to estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production and safety schedules. Interprets specifications and job orders in order to assign duties to workers. Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and the safety and hygiene of the department. Suggests changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency and safety of shop, department, and work crew.
- Trains, communicates, and enforces workplace safety and hygiene policies and methods to employees. Evaluates tasks to recommend safe work methodology. Explains company policies and labor contract provisions to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Analyzes and assists in the resolution of work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Coordinate departmental activities with other departmental supervisors.
- Complies with all environmental, health, safety and housekeeping programs.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
