The Marathon Los Angeles Refinery is currently seeking applicants to fill full-time new Operations Trainee positions at our Wilmington and Carson, CA locations. Operators work closely with team members to monitor, regulate and operate complex process equipment to produce quality products in a safe, environmentally sound and efficient manner. Operators work in a safety-sensitive environment and must successfully complete an extensive pre-employment assessment process, drug/alcohol and medical screenings, and a background check. To ensure safe operations, new hires must also successfully complete operator qualification training and participate in continuous random drug and alcohol screenings. Successful candidates will have a solid understanding of physical science, chemistry and mathematics, including algebra; a passing score on pre-employment test including mechanical aptitude, reading and mathematics.

Requirements

High School graduate or GED equivalent
Associate’s degree in Process Technology, Math, Science, technical/chemical, related discipline or 3 years in Refining operations or 5 years of experience in the petrochemical industry
Solid understanding of physical science, chemistry and mathematics, including algebra
Passing score on pre-employment test including mechanical aptitude, reading and mathematics
Valid Driver's License
