Referral Specialist
About The Position
At Valley Mountain Regional Center, we’re seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Referral Specialist to be the first point of contact for individuals seeking our services. This vital role is perfect for someone who thrives on helping others, values teamwork, and is fluent in both English and Spanish. You’ll screen incoming referrals, connect families to valuable resources, and guide them through the first steps of our intake process. With your bilingual skills, you’ll ensure Spanish-speaking families receive clear and welcoming communication. From maintaining electronic records to scheduling intake appointments, you’ll help keep our intake operations running smoothly.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent) OR Two or more years of college education
- 3 + years of experience in an office setting
- Bilingual in Spanish (speak, read, and write fluently) required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with VMRC intake processes
Nice To Haves
- Prior Senior Office Technician experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Screen prospective consumers to determine potential eligibility
- Provide families with information about community resources
- Gather and enter referral information into our system
- Send out referral packets and process consent forms
- Schedule intake appointments
- Maintain referral tracking and data in Excel
- Collaborate with intake teams and service coordinators
- Assist with reception and mail distribution as needed
