About The Position

Abrazo Biltmore Terrace is seeking a Referral Coordinator, a non-exempt medical office position responsible for managing all referrals for the medical offices in the market. This role involves adhering to the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources, as well as the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement. The coordinator must demonstrate support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by understanding compliance responsibilities, adhering to relevant laws and policies, and reporting compliance issues promptly.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• One year of direct patient experience in a medical insurance or healthcare-related industry.

Responsibilities

• Process patient referrals for the practices in the market.
• Facilitate orders outside to outside facilities.
• Coordinate scheduling of office visits for the referred patient.
• Assist patient with finding resources that accept the various insurances.
• Obtain pre-authorization from payers.
• Call insurance companies to get medications approved that may have been denied due to formulary changes.
• Log in daily to the system to check the status of patients not mapped correctly and update patient charts.
• Set up referring providers, payers, and chart mergers in the Electronic System.
