About The Position

The Referral Coordinator is responsible for patient referrals, pre-authorizations, scheduling patient appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and providing general office support duties. This position provides and tracks authorizations and referrals, ensures documents are accurately handled in a timeline manner, and performs daily monitoring of all initial referrals and follow-up tasks. This is a temporary position eligible for benefits, with eligibility for conversion into a permanent position and the opportunity to lead into a regular full-time position.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Previous experience operating personal computers and using windows-based programs, including Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

Six (6) months experience working with various insurance referral and documentation needs
One (1) year directly related experience or training
Knowledge of basic medical coverage plans including HMO, PPO, State programs and other types of coverage
Knowledge of Medical Terminology
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Experience using Electronic Medical Record software
