Referral Coordinator Heart & Vascular Service Part Time
About The Position
The Referral Coordinator will be responsible for completing referrals for patients and coordinating with referring and receiving practices and/or departments. This role may also involve coordinating and preparing financial estimates for patients, obtaining necessary authorizations, directing patients to providers within their insurance plan, reviewing benefits, and educating patients on their insurance coverage. Additionally, the Referral Coordinator will coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, or other services within various departments with internal and ancillary providers, review schedules for accuracy and proper time allocation, and follow up on all referrals to ensure no care gaps.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Computer experience required.
- Customer service experience required.
Nice To Haves
- Thorough understanding of Insurance coverage (FSC/Coverage/Plan types) and Medical Necessity policies preferred.
- Knowledge of medical records software preferred.
Responsibilities
