We are looking for a REFERRAL CLERK for a full-time, civil contract at Kirtland AFB, NM.Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. SUMMARY: This position provides clerical/administrative support in the Referral Management Center for customer service, referral tracking, referral appointing, and reporting activities. This position will support the daily functions of specialty care referral appointing, referral review and coordination, beneficiary counseling and referral tracking at the MTF. Main responsibilities include but are not limited to greeting patients and visitors, answering and directing phone calls, and scheduling medical appointments. The role involves reviewing referrals for completeness, verifying patient eligibility and covered benefits, and ensuring patients have the necessary documentation for their care. Additional duties include managing and retrieving medical records, tracking referral results, and returning documentation to providers within required timelines. The position also supports patient travel arrangements and reimbursement processing, compiles monthly referral metrics reports, and provides training to staff on referral processes and timelines.
