About The Position

PAML a LabCorp company is seeking a Reference Test Clerk to join our team. This position will be responsible for preparing and sending specimens and test requests to LabCorp and/or contracted reference laboratory for testing, as well as releasing referral test results into the computer system. The role involves preparing laboratory specimens for various analysis and testing, researching, troubleshooting and resolving customer and specimen problems, sending test requests to the proper location and releasing test results, assisting clients with specimen-related requests or inquiries, processing specimens to be sent out to additional facilities, providing support to various areas of the laboratory, performing sample sorting, racking and retrieving, and preparing record logs in a timely and efficient manner. A clean and safe work environment must be maintained.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Comfortable with handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Well organized and a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months or more medical office or hospital data entry
  • 6 months or more clinical, hospital, or research laboratory

Responsibilities
