Requirements
- High school or equivalent (GED) (Required)
- 608 certification
- At least 7+ years of working experience in a related field
- Valid Driver’s License (required)
- Must provide and maintain essential mechanic tools and toolbox for daily tasks
- EPA certification (required)
Nice To Haves
- Required to complete SpartanNash certification for safe driving skills for material handling equipment, tractors, and trailers (training provided)
Responsibilities
- Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration units on trucks, trailers, or shipping containers.
- Using diagnostic tools to identify faults, replace faulty parts, recharge refrigerant, and ensure units are operating within required temperature ranges.
- Interacting with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse staff to coordinate repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
- Diagnosing complex control board failures
- Replace compressors
- Repair evaporator and condenser systems
- Perform advanced refrigeration diagnostics
- Replace sensors and electrical components
- Analyze fleet refrigeration performance
- Train technicians
- Oversee major refrigeration repairs
- Assist with warranty repairs and manufacturer support
- Assist with fleet maintenance planning
- Maintain service records and repair documentation
