Requirements

• High school or equivalent (GED) (Required)
• 608 certification
• At least 7+ years of working experience in a related field
• Valid Driver’s License (required)
• Must provide and maintain essential mechanic tools and toolbox for daily tasks
• EPA certification (required)

Nice To Haves

• Required to complete SpartanNash certification for safe driving skills for material handling equipment, tractors, and trailers (training provided)

Responsibilities

• Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration units on trucks, trailers, or shipping containers.
• Using diagnostic tools to identify faults, replace faulty parts, recharge refrigerant, and ensure units are operating within required temperature ranges.
• Interacting with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse staff to coordinate repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
• Diagnosing complex control board failures.
• Replacing compressors.
• Repairing evaporator and condenser systems.
• Performing advanced refrigeration diagnostics.
• Replacing sensors and electrical components.
• Analyzing fleet refrigeration performance.
• Training technicians.
• Overseeing major refrigeration repairs.
• Assisting with warranty repairs and manufacturer support.
• Assisting with fleet maintenance planning.
• Maintaining service records and repair documentation.
