About The Position

Domtar is a leading producer of pulp, paper, packaging, tissue and wood products. Howe Sound Pulp and Paper has an immediate opportunity for a full-time, permanent Red Seal Machinist. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Machinist will operate manual machine tools (lathe, mill, horizontal boring mill, radial arm drill press, key-seating machines) to manufacture precision parts from metal and plastic stock. The role also includes supporting preventive maintenance programs and maintaining accurate documentation and records. As a member of the Maintenance department, you will maintain all equipment to required standards and be responsive to production needs and equipment failures. You will work as part of a team but could routinely perform work independently. You will maintain an elevated level of accuracy and safety while performing your duties.

Requirements

Red Seal Certification
Ability to read, create and interpret machine drawings
Effective communicator
Able to respond effectively to changing work situations and priorities.

Responsibilities
