About The Position

The Salvation Army Northern Division Headquarters (DHQ) in Roseville, Minnesota, is committed to “Doing the Most Good” by supporting worship, housing, and service centers and addressing community needs across Minnesota and North Dakota. The Red Kettle Campaign is the organization's largest annual fundraising effort, raising nearly $7 million each year through the dedication of thousands of volunteers who serve as bell ringers throughout the holiday season. The Red Kettle Volunteer Services Coordinator is a seasonal position that typically works from approximately October through December in support of the annual Red Kettle Campaign. This position provides administrative and customer service support to the Volunteer Relations team by coordinating volunteer outreach and scheduling, maintaining volunteer records, responding to volunteer inquiries, and supporting day-to-day campaign operations. Using the Golden volunteer management database and other technology platforms, the position helps recruit, schedule, and support volunteers while ensuring accurate campaign data and effective communication throughout the campaign season.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software.
  • Must successfully complete required background checks.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous customer service, administrative, or office experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate volunteer registration and scheduling using the Golden volunteer management database.
  • Answer the Red Kettle hotline, assist volunteers with registration and scheduling, make outbound recruitment and reminder calls, maintain volunteer records, and provide community service documentation as requested.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for volunteers by responding to phone calls, emails, and other inquiries.
  • Monitor the Ring Bells shared mailbox, resolve scheduling and registration questions, document volunteer concerns, and communicate pertinent information to Volunteer Relations staff, officers, and local kettle coordinators.
  • Support day-to-day Red Kettle Campaign operations by maintaining campaign files and communications, monitoring the Microsoft Teams channel, coordinating campaign supplies and materials, performing data entry, and assisting with campaign logistics as needed.
