The Recycling Waste Handler conducts tasks required in the recycling area and plant cleanliness, performs basic maintenance on specialized production and non-production equipment, and follows work instructions. This role is responsible for operating recycling equipment such as balers, Hypertrim, and compactors, loading waste onto shredders, weighing and documenting waste, loading trailers for shipment, monitoring and filling outside containers, and operating forklifts and other industrial trucks. The position requires adherence to all company and safety policies, including proper PPE usage, attendance, and safe work practices. The role also involves frequent removal of waste from all departments and efficient time management.

Requirements

The ability to understand written, verbal and visual instructions.
The ability to perform accurate written and computer data entry.
Able to test material before shipment.
Ability to operate all recycling equipment.
Ability to operate Balers, fabric, fiber, cores, cardboard.
Ability to operate Hypertrim.
Ability to operate Compactor(s).
Ability to Load Waste on Vecoplan Shredder for Erema Operation.
Ability to Weigh, tag, and properly document all waste.
Ability to Follow written Work Order instructions using proper materials.
Ability to Load trailers for shipment.
Ability to Monitor and fill outside containers with waste material (open top dumpsters).
Certified fork truck, clamp truck and pole truck operation.
Understands all job hazards, demonstrates safe behaviors.
Able to maintain clean work environment (housekeeping, 5S) with little/no supervision.
Frequent removal of waste from all departments (production waste, cardboard, fiber and metal).
Use of efficient time management skills.
Able to prioritize internal and external job functions.
Lock-out/tag-out training.
Basic hazardous communication training.
PPE training.
On the job safety review.
Powered Industrial Truck certification.

Responsibilities
