About The Position

Waste Connections of Washington, Inc. is currently hiring a Recycling Advocate to join our team in Vancouver, WA. This position will focus on the curbside contamination reduction plan. The Recycling Advocate will be visiting residential homes to educate and improve the overall quality of recyclable and organic materials in Clark County.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with the Clark County region and recycling practices.
  • Ability to make judgement calls to maintain safety while walking and driving along streets.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk long distances and up and down numerous flights of stairs.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle for long durations of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lb-boxes and other equipment using proper lifting techniques.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and a good driving record.
  • Applicant must successfully pass criminal background check, drug panel screening and have an acceptable motor vehicle report to be eligible for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Visiting assigned areas on collection day and placing informational tags on recycling & organics carts.
  • Delivering educational materials via mail, email, in-person, and phone calls.
  • Accurately collecting, analyzing, and reporting data and other information.
  • Responding to questions and concerns from customers in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner.
  • Tabling at events on nights/weekends and assisting other staff with small projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
