Recycle Technician- Rotating 12-hour, 2-2-3 A Crew Nights
About The Position
The Recycle Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining recycling equipment, ensuring operational efficiency, and adhering to safety and quality standards. This role involves working a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, specifically the 2-2-3 A Crew Nights schedule, from 6:45 pm to 7:00 am. The technician is expected to achieve specific performance metrics in areas such as safety, operational efficiency, workplace organization, quality control, process maintenance, team contribution, and physical adaptability. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of 5 years of experience in an extrusion processing environment is preferred, and demonstrated experience with extrusion processes and equipment. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, motivated, able to multi-task, and share responsibility and accountability.
Requirements

- Proven knowledge of extrusion processes and equipment operation.
- Strong decision-making, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt to a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills for inputting process and quality data.
- Self-directed, motivated, able to multi-task, and share responsibility and accountability.

Responsibilities
- Achieve 100% adherence to safety protocols with zero accident reports related to personal protective equipment (PPE) and equipment handling.
- Consistently wear and utilize PPE correctly, and perform all physical tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs and maneuvering large equipment, safely and effectively.
- Pass a physical abilities test to confirm capability for work-related tasks.
- Meet or exceed 95% of shift operational goals, demonstrating efficiency and productivity in all tasks.
- Start, operate, maintain, and shut down equipment accurately according to operational standards.
- Ensure equipment performance aligns with specifications and address any deviations promptly.
- Complete daily duties in accordance with TPM and 6S methodologies to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
- Ensure that workplace standards are met and improvements are identified and implemented.
- Achieve a 98% accuracy rate in completing Quality Check paperwork and Production Operator reports, with timely and accurate documentation of Work Orders.
- Complete all Quality Check paperwork as scheduled and accurately document production data and work orders.
- Ensure that all reports reflect true and precise information regarding equipment and process performance.
- Resolve 90% of process and equipment defects through effective troubleshooting and minor repairs, with comprehensive documentation for further repairs.
- Diagnose process and equipment issues promptly, perform minor repairs as needed, and document work orders for major repairs.
- Assist Maintenance personnel to ensure efficient resolution of complex issues.
- Contribute positively to team goals and maintain flexibility to meet the business needs, achieving a 95% or higher satisfaction rating from team members.
- Operate in a manner that adds value to the team and supports team objectives.
- Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule and duties to accommodate business requirements and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Exhibit a 100% compliance rate in adapting to varying temperatures and standing for full shifts, with no performance issues related to physical demands.
- Perform tasks efficiently in varying environmental conditions and stand for extended periods as required.
- Adapt to the physical demands of the role effectively, ensuring consistent performance throughout shifts.
