About The Position

The Recycle Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining recycling equipment, ensuring operational efficiency, and adhering to safety and quality standards. This role involves working a rotating 12-hour, 2-2-3 C Crew Nights schedule (6:45 pm - 7:00 am) and requires a strong understanding of extrusion processes and equipment. The technician will contribute to team goals, maintain workplace organization, and perform necessary documentation and minor repairs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in an extrusion processing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with extrusion processes and equipment.
  • Proven knowledge of extrusion processes and equipment operation.
  • Strong decision-making, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt to a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills for inputting process and quality data.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Self-directed, motivated, able to multi-task, and share responsibility and accountability.
  • Consistently wear and utilize PPE correctly.
  • Perform all physical tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs and maneuvering large equipment, safely and effectively.
  • Pass a physical abilities test to confirm capability for work-related tasks.
  • Achieve 100% adherence to safety protocols with zero accident reports related to personal protective equipment (PPE) and equipment handling.
  • Meet or exceed 95% of shift operational goals.
  • Demonstrate 100% adherence to workplace organization methodologies, such as TPM and 6S.
  • Achieve a 98% accuracy rate in completing Quality Check paperwork and Production Operator reports, with timely and accurate documentation of Work Orders.
  • Resolve 90% of process and equipment defects through effective troubleshooting and minor repairs, with comprehensive documentation for further repairs.
  • Contribute positively to team goals and maintain flexibility to meet the business needs, achieving a 95% or higher satisfaction rating from team members.
  • Exhibit a 100% compliance rate in adapting to varying temperatures and standing for full shifts, with no performance issues related to physical demands.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and shut down equipment accurately according to operational standards.
  • Ensure equipment performance aligns with specifications and address deviations promptly.
  • Complete daily duties in accordance with TPM and 6S methodologies.
  • Identify and implement improvements to workplace standards.
  • Complete all Quality Check paperwork as scheduled and accurately document production data and work orders.
  • Diagnose process and equipment issues promptly.
  • Perform minor repairs as needed and document work orders for major repairs.
  • Assist Maintenance personnel to ensure efficient resolution of complex issues.
  • Contribute positively to team goals and support team objectives.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule and duties to accommodate business requirements.
  • Perform tasks efficiently in varying environmental conditions and stand for extended periods.
  • Adapt to the physical demands of the role effectively, ensuring consistent performance throughout shifts.
