About The Position

The Shelter Association of Washtenaw County (SAWC) is seeking a Recuperative Care Operation Specialist to join their team. This position is responsible for the smooth operation of the off-site 12-bed Recuperative Care program during their assigned shift. The role involves ensuring the safety of all guests and performing duties consistent with SAWC's mission to end homelessness. The specialist will work with the Recuperative Care Coordinator and the on-site part-time nurse team to coordinate and meet individual client needs, including access to meals, supplies, and care for recuperation from post-acute medical needs. Requirements

  • Associates Degree, professional certification, or alternative equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an active member of the Shelter Operations Team.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the off-site 12-bed Recuperative Care program during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure the safety of all guests.
  • Perform duties in a manner consistent with the overall mission of the Shelter Association of Washtenaw County.
  • Coordinate and meet individual client needs in tandem with the Recuperative Care Coordinator and on-site nurse team, including access to meals, supplies, and care.
  • Interact with clients in a non-judgmental ethical manner.
  • Be familiar with and implement SAWC policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all current clients are present upon arrival and departure of the program site.
  • Conduct hotel room checks for cleanliness, safety concerns, and routine medication prompting.
  • Prepare and distribute client lunches, and pick up client dinners from the Delonis Center.
  • Provide transport for clients and/or other errands with approval of supervisor.
  • Offer supportive, empathetic, confidential listening and general assistance to clients.
  • Document various client information and activities in HMIS and staff notes professionally and appropriately.
  • Support light administrative tasks including documentation and tracking needed for the program.
  • Perform light cleaning in the staff hotel room and order supplies and meals for clients.
  • Welcome and orient new clients to the rules and responsibilities of the program.
  • Communicate appropriately with the Recuperative Care Coordinator regarding client Leaves of Absences, Late Arrivals, and other client policy questions.
  • Participate in Care Coordination Committee meetings when on shift, and additional all-staff meetings and trainings.
  • Work holidays if necessary.
  • Be on time for work and use a time clock to document hours.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
