About The Position

The Recruitment & Campus Visits Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing campus visits and events for the Office of Admissions and Student Engagement. This includes managing daily tours, open houses, virtual events, and other recruitment events from start to finish, and serving as the point of contact on the day of events. The role also includes supervisory responsibility over the Student Ambassador Program. The coordinator will communicate effectively with students and parents regarding Barton College, campus visits, and admissions requirements, and develop communications to advertise events, assisting the communications team with other campaigns. A key aspect of the role is liaising with faculty and staff in other departments to ensure successful event execution, providing strategic event ideas to the leadership team, and tracking/reporting campus event data. Continuous evaluation and adjustment of event processes are expected to improve the campus visit experience. The coordinator must be able to speak to all facets of admission populations (freshman, transfer, graduate, and professional studies, as well as any special programs). They will manage the events calendar, room reservations, and AV/IT requests for recruitment events, working in an atmosphere where goals are set and reached based on institutional expectations. The role requires independent travel for consecutive nights, daily use of Slate CRM and Jenzabar SIS, and willingness to work weekends and evenings. Building relationships with high school counselors, independent consultants, vendors, and constituents is crucial. The ideal candidate thrives in a team atmosphere while possessing a strong independent work ethic, demonstrating strong interpersonal and presentation skills, and exhibiting a positive and vibrant presence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Suite, and Google Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to interact and communicate effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to be discreet in handling confidential and proprietary information appropriately.
  • Proven track record of reliability, responsibility, and integrity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment effectively and can work independently of direct supervision.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and ability to be detail-oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Slate CRM and Jenzabar preferred.
  • Experience with Canva for designing graphics, invitations, and advertisements preferred.
