About The Position

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Our success depends on hiring exceptional talent at every level; from skilled technicians on the production floor to highly specialized engineers. The Recruiting Coordinator plays a critical role in making that happen. This position serves as the operational engine of the Talent Acquisition team, supporting talent acquisition (salaried engineering roles) and technician recruiters (high-volume hourly technician roles). You will ensure our hiring processes run smoothly, efficiently, and professionally, creating an outstanding candidate experience while keeping our internal stakeholders aligned and on schedule. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 2–5 years of experience in recruiting coordination, talent acquisition operations, or HR operations.
  • Experience supporting high-volume hiring environments (manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or similar industries preferred).
  • Demonstrated success managing complex scheduling across multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Calm and adaptable in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
  • Strong communicator who builds trust with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism.
  • Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Calendar management tools.
  • Ability to work onsite at AST’s Midland facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate high-volume interview scheduling for technicians and engineers across multiple departments.
  • Manage onsite interview logistics, including visitor coordination, room scheduling, interview materials, and access requirements.
  • Track interview feedback and gently drive timely responses from hiring teams.
  • Support hiring events, career fairs, and onsite recruiting initiatives as needed.
  • Initiate and track requisition approvals to ensure alignment with workforce planning and budget.
  • Maintain visibility into open headcount, requisition aging, and hiring progress.
  • Coordinate offer approval workflows to ensure all internal stakeholders are aligned before extension.
  • Partner with HR and Finance as needed to support compensation and hiring documentation processes.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Greenhouse experience preferred.
  • Ensure consistent dispositioning and compliance with hiring regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Generate recruiting metrics and pipeline reports to support decision-making.
  • Help ensure technician hiring processes align with company safety and compliance standards.
  • Serve as a point of contact for candidates throughout the interview process.
  • Provide clear, timely communication regarding interview details, next steps, and status updates.
  • Represent AST with professionalism, responsiveness, and warmth at every touchpoint.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline scheduling, approvals, and workflow management.
  • Help document and standardize recruiting SOPs to support continued growth.
  • Partner closely with contract recruiters to maintain hiring momentum aligned with production ramp timelines.
  • Act as a collaborative team member who anticipates needs and proactively supports both technician and engineering hiring efforts.
  • Coordinate and schedule new hire orientation sessions in partnership with hiring managers and department leadership.
  • Coordinate system access; badge distribution and parking passes
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for new hires during the onboarding process.
