About The Position

This role focuses on screening and pre-approving driver applications. The specialist will conduct initial conversations with potential drivers to gather essential qualification information, including driving record, experience, criminal background, and familiarity with company and DOT policies. They will make pre-approval decisions in real-time and have the authority to independently decide on the pre-approval, pass, or rejection of applications received through various channels. The position requires proficiency in operating computer programs such as AS400, Windows, Recruiting Legacy, Salesforce, and Call Center phone and fax systems to process applications and ensure compliance with Federal DOT regulations and company hiring standards. Communication with driving schools regarding application statuses is also a key responsibility. Additional duties may be assigned to support recruitment and compliance objectives.

Requirements

  • Two to three years of experience in recruiting or sales.
  • One to two years of experience with PC-based systems (Windows).
  • Proficient in recruitment techniques, with an understanding of compliance requirements and the ability to assess candidate qualifications effectively.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities to make sound pre-approval determinations.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, while maintaining focus and efficiency.
  • Skilled in probing, questioning, and active listening, with strong verbal, written, and documentation abilities.
  • Skilled in operating a PC and utilizing office technology, including multi-line telephones, fax machines, and copy machines.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to address complex candidate inquiries and resolve application challenges independently.
  • Seeing and hearing: Read documents, computer screen answer phones, communicate in person.
  • Dexterity: utilizing phone, typing, and writing.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in the transportation industry is preferred.

Responsibilities
