About The Position

The Illinois Tollway is dedicated to providing and promoting a safe and efficient system of highways while ensuring the highest possible level of service to our customers. Whether it's I-PASS, the Move Illinois Program, open road tolling or keeping you safe with our H.E.L.P. trucks, we are committed to delivering great benefits and services to customers. The Tollway is a user-fee system – no state or federal tax dollars are used to support maintenance and operations. Operations are funded by toll and concession revenues. Under the leadership of the Board of Directors and Executive Staff, the Tollway is committed to achieving the following goals: increase collaboration with regional transportation and planning agencies, promote the regional economy, maintain financial integrity, foster environmental responsibility and sustainability, maintain the safety and efficiency of the Tollway system, further transparency and accountability, enhance customer service, and maintain public trust. In support of this vision, the Recruiter will coordinate and attend community and college career fairs/events, regularly manage/update organizational job boards, and collaborate with others to develop strategic sourcing pipeline connections.

Requirements

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate
  • At least one year of experience in full cycle recruiting and/or Human Resources
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to consistently safeguard the confidentiality of employee information processed by the Administration Department.
  • Excellent computer skills especially using the Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Skilled in facilitating virtual and in-person seminar experiences in a clear and engaging manner
  • Active design and facilitation experience as needed for presenting to various audiences
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, time-management, and decision-making qualities.
  • Knowledge of business writing principles and practices.
  • Ability to establish respectful and collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate a cooperative spirit.
  • Provides and maintains a quality of work that exceeds candidate experience expectations.
  • Must be available to work not only days, but nights and weekends based on schedule and operational need

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, Marketing, Human Resources, Liberal Arts, or a related field from an accredited institution, preferred
  • Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish (read/write/speak) to connect with a wide audience of applicant pools

Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for enhancing the Talent Acquisition team's ability to rapidly target, identify, source, and present top talent for current and future searches
  • Attend community and college career fairs/events and develop working partnerships with strategically selected colleges and professional groups.
  • Collaborate with the Hiring Managers and Talent Acquisition staff for recruitment and sourcing strategies for niche applicant pools.
  • Assist in scheduling interviews and testing for qualification assessments
  • Maintains job board and partnership email updates
  • Builds relationships with candidates and recruiting vendors to ensure the Tollway offers the best recruiting experience for all parties
  • Partners with colleagues to coordinate activities with other programs, departments and external agencies and organizations
  • Facilitate and host seminars showcasing agency opportunities in-person and virtually
  • Design and develop innovative content to build awareness of promotional opportunities
