About The Position

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking an experienced and motivated Corporate Recruiter to join our team. Recruiters are responsible for attracting external candidates for hiring consideration as well as identifying internal candidates for other opportunities. This job includes attending recruiting functions, the handling of confidential matters, and an array of duties within the Human Resources Division. This role offers a merit-based work-from-home program, with the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week after initial in-person training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience with Human Resources with specific emphasis on Talent Acquisition
  • Able to drive an automobile, possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record consistent with Company underwriting guidelines
  • Technical competency with personal computer operations and business software, including Workday, Handshake, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to organize data, multi-task and make decisions independently
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of at least one year of experience demonstrating confidentiality and above-average skills as an Auto-Owners associate is preferred
  • Contain high energy, charisma, confidence, and maintain a positive attitude

Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with the responsibilities associated with Company positions
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of our business operations, culture and Company history
  • Attend career fairs, on-campus interviews, college visits and other recruiting functions which can include travel outside of regular working hours as well as video conferencing
  • Assist walk-in applicants with our application process, typing tests and conducting interviews
  • Discern the traits and skills necessary in a candidate that would make a great associate and possess the necessary aptitude for the open position
  • Assist with identifying excellent candidates through the attendance of a variety of recruiting functions, job postings, referrals, networking and other recruiting resources and tools
  • Develop an understanding of the applicant process to effectively manage it through internal candidate tracking systems
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, interviews, meetings and seminars
  • Utilize sound judgment to make recommendations and decisions regarding salary, job classifications, transfer options, extending job offers, or other related recruiting issues
  • Perform background checks and other necessary employment verifications
  • Coordinate assigned projects with timely and accurate completion
  • Effectively conduct presentations and be comfortable with public speaking
  • Coordinate and prepare a corporate recruiting plan within a defined territory
  • Enter and maintain database information and reports
  • Participate in conducting seminars and presentations
  • Willingness to travel, attend seminars, and attend other training classes as required
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance in meeting a defined work schedule
  • May train other associates as requested by manager
  • Stay abreast of and research recruiting industry trends
  • Assist with other responsibilities in the department, or elsewhere, upon request
